How do I become a jumper for Operation Swan Dive?
E-mail  or call Jenny Amidio at (603) 801-0229. You will be added to the list and will be sent a welcoming package.
Who can jump?
Jumpers must be at least 18 years old
Jumpers need to be available from Saturday at 8 am until Sunday afternoon
Maximum jumper weight is 225 pounds (the tandem canopy can hold up to 450 pounds)
How much do I need to raise?
Each jumper is being asked to raise a minimum of $1,500. For this, jumpers will jump for free, will receive a Gift Bag of cool swag, and will receive a free ticket to the Lyrics for Life dinner and concert at the Drop Zone on Sunday evening.
Those raising $1,000 will receive everything except free entry into the Sunday evening event.
What happens if I don't raise the minimum?
If the minimum is not reached, jumpers will be required to pay $165 to complete their jump and would need to purchase a ticket to the Lyrics for Life dinner should they wish to attend.
Where do I send funds collected?
Please send checks made out to "Operation Swan Dive" to Jenny Amidio, 10 Fox Den Road, Hollis, NH, 03049.
Can sponsors pay online?
Yes. Please ONLY use the event's PayPal account ( www.paypal.com), using the donations@operationswandive.org mail address. Sponsors should put the skydiver they are supporting in the Notes section.
When do all my funds need to be collected?
Funds should all be turned in/registered online by July 11th. Donations received after that date will be accepted, but unfortunately will not count towards meeting your minimum.
Are there any discounts for accommodations, etc. while I'm at the event?
We are currently working out possible discounts on airfare, car rental and hotel.
When do I need to arrive?
Jumpers need to arrive at SkyDive Pepperell at least 15 minutes before their training class starts. We expect to know in advance when classes are scheduled.
When are training sessions?
Training sessions will occur at 8 am, 11 am and 2 pm on Saturday, 8 am and 11 am on Sunday.
How long will training take?
The training will take about an hour. When it is your turn to jump, your instructor will go over everything again and answer any questions you may have.
Do I need to stay the whole day?
Yes. Actual jump times vary.
Can I leave and come back once I know my jump time?
No, jump times are varied and can change at any time, so you will need to be available throughout the day.
Can I leave after I jump?
Of course. But you'll be missing some fun activities!
Is there a possibility that I won't jump until Sunday?
We will make every effort to have all OSD jumpers skydive on Saturday. However, all jumpers are encouraged to come Sunday as well, as there will be concerts in the afternoon and a special Lyrics for Life event on Sunday evening.
Will there be activities during the day so I don't get bored?
Of course! We are currently organizing music, activities and there will also be other skydivers jumping over the weekend.
Will there be food at the drop zone?
Yes. There will be food for sale on site. We are also in the process of securing food sponsors for the event, so there is a chance that at least some of the jumpers' meals will be taken care of.
What do I wear during the jump?
You should wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Short and a t-shirt are fine. You will be wearing a jumpsuit over your clothes.
What do I need to bring?
Each jumper will need a valid driver's license or passport with them.
How long does my jump actually take?
The Skydive takes about 30 minutes, between takeoff and landing.
Can I get my jump videotaped?
Yes. Video of your jump costs an extra $100.
What if I am unable to jump once the weekend arrives?
You may reschedule your jump.
What happens if there's lousy weather?
Jumps may be cancelled or postponed due to rain and/or excessive wind. Operation Swan Dive will be taking place regardless.
